3 Days in the Heart of Andalusia

Back to blog

Wondering what there is to do and see in Seville? Follow this three-day itinerary for an unforgettable whirlwind trip around the Andalusian capital.

Day 1

Explore El Barrio de Santa Cruz

Begin in the old Jewish quarter near the Cathedral and Giralda, where narrow, cobbled streets lead to secret squares flanked by orange trees. For lunch, Calle Mateos Gago is lined with traditional tapas bars — Bar Giralda and Bodega Santa Cruz are popular options.

Row around Plaza España

One of the most beautiful examples of Andalusian architecture, built for the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition. The plaza features alcoves representing each Spanish province with decorative tiles. It has appeared on screen in Star Wars: Episode II and Lawrence of Arabia.

Flamenco Show

End the day with dinner and a performance at Los Gallos or La Casa de la Guitarra, two of Seville's most famous flamenco 'tablaos'.

Day 2

Cathedral and Giralda

Visit the world's largest Gothic cathedral, which contains Christopher Columbus's tomb and notable artwork including pieces by Goya and Murillo. The Giralda offers sweeping views after climbing its 37 ramps — purpose-built so that they could be climbed up on horseback.

Real Alcázar

One of the most spectacular examples of Mudéjar architecture in the Iberian Peninsula, featuring beautiful gardens and serving as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The structure recently appeared in Game of Thrones.

Las Setas

Metropol Parasol, completed in 2011, stands as a 26-metre-tall wooden structure — supposedly the largest in the world. The site includes the Antiquarium museum and panoramic terraces.

Cruise on the Guadalquivir river

End the day with a scenic river passage under Puente de Triana, taking in the Triana neighbourhood and the Isla de La Cartuja.

Day 3

Triana

Cross Puente Triana to explore this neighbourhood, the birthplace of many of Seville's most famous bullfighters, flamenco singers and dancers. The area includes Altozano square and the Church of Santa Ana.

Torre del Oro

This military watchtower contains a naval museum displaying old navigational instruments, historical documents, nautical charts and models.

Horse-drawn carriage ride

Conclude your itinerary with a sunset ride past the major landmarks, the driver sharing legends and stories of Seville's past.
